Two questions about top bar and sidebar

Hi all,

How can I add the social media icons in Top Bar menu like the demo? I tried to “cheat” using icons2go shortcode as customized links, but of course it didn’t work 🙂

Second question, about sidebar. Can I ask to the theme to use a default layout without sidebar? Event pages are not easy to manage with the right sidebar. I would like to have event pages fullwidth. Is it possible? Thank you

Hello!
1) You can easily add your social media icons by going to Appearance -> Customize -> Social Networks. Icons will appear on header bar and footer.

2) Sidebar can be disabled for single post type pages, for example events: go to Appearance -> Customize -> Sidebar Customization and turn off “Enable events page sidebar”. Then save it by clicking “Publish”

1) I’m sorry I didn’t notice it before. Anyway it works! Thank you

2) I noticed it before, but it seems it doesn’t work 🙁 And anyway I need to get, not just event pages, but all kind of “auto-generated” pages without sidebar.

I.e. Right now ALL sidebars in appaerence-costumize-sidebar are “off”, but it doesn’t work: http://www.osus.it/round/event/evento-in-evidenza/

And the same issue we have even for the auto-generated page of a buddypress group: http://www.osus.it/round/gruppi/milano/

Where I can change the “default” setting of the standard template and replace it with a fullwidth template or emtpy template? Thank you

This issue is quite unusual, I am going to investigate it with our developers and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Regarding the Buddypress auto-generated pages: just simply switch template page attributes: when editing a page, on the right sidebar you can choose different template page. For your purpose select Page No Sidebar and click update

After a talk with our developer, you can fix the sidebar issue by just updating your theme (current release is 2.1.6).

I didn’t notice the update, now event page works with and without sidebar.
Thank you.

About the group page issue:
As it is impossible to set template for events, is it impossible to set page attributes for groups page and other similar pages.

sono Andrea del supporto Themes2go e mi permetto di risponderti in italiano dopo aver notato dai screenshot che l’installazione di WordPress è in italiano.

La possibilità di scegliere differenti templates è disponibile solamente per le nuove pagine create con l’editor di WordPress, quindi Pagine -> Crea nuova pagina.

BuddyPress genera automaticamente i propri template di pagina e poichè le strutture sono differenti, il tema non può applicare le proprie funzionalità direttamente.
Il nostro supporto non può aiutarti con modifiche al codice sorgente in quanto fuori dai termini di servizio (http://www.themes2go.xyz/manuals/lifecoach/knowledge-base/support/)

Grazie per l’italiano.

Ok tutto chiaro. Ti faccio una domanda più diretta. Posso chiedere al tema, in qualche modo di sostituire il template standard con un altro template da “default”? Esiste un modo? Anche da codice? Perché non voglio modificare il template standard, vorrei solo dirgli di considerare come “default” un altro template.

la tua richiesta non è facilmente implementabile, ma quello che posso fare è consigliarti di dare un’occhiata al manuale di BuddyPress, in particolare la sezione theme customization.
