A higher version of Theme Core Plugin is needed

Hello,

i downloaded the last version of the theme (2.0.1) from themeforest. After activating the theme I cant install all the plugins cause following error message is coming up:

Plugin not activated. A higher version of Icons2go is needed for this theme. Please update the plugin.

btw. what is the newest version of T2G Theme Dashboard? I got version 1.3.4 which I had to install manually cause i got the same error message here like in the text above

Sorry for spamming I just found some helpful information about the system requirements:

The theme need following requirements:

WordPress 4.7 or higher
MySql 5.6 or higher
PHP 7.0
CURL enabled
.htaccess
ModRewrite ON
upload_max_filesize: 128M (to support upload of Podcasts in mp3)
memory_limit: 128M
post_max_size: 128M (to support upload of Podcasts in mp3)
max_execution_time: 240 seconds

so my stystem has currently this:

PHP Version: 7.2.4
WordPress Version: 4.9.5
Server Software: Apache/2.4.33 (Unix)

max_execution_time:120
upload_max_filesize:64M
memory_limit:256M
post_max_size:76M
cURL support enabled

so what can I do? The Manuel says that PHP 7xx should cover all requirements 🙂

Hello, it is possible that the theme has been updated since your downloaded version.
You need to download the latest version from themeforest or update using the Envato Market plugin, then the installation will work fine.

Every theme version updates the pugin version and the old file gets deleted from the online repository, that can explain why you can’t install.

I just verified the installation and it works fine so is the only explanation possible.
Your server configuration is correct.

I got this version after 16 March 18 (Version 2.0.1) installed.
Should be the newest version right?

The latest update date is in the product page on Themeforest. You can click on the Envato Market page of your WP admin to check if there are updates. Once you set this up it will make udpates easier (1 click). Is all explained in the manual under the Update page.

It seems you have latest version by the way, I just checked for you, therefore you can have something blocking your connection to the plugins repository. It may be a server security block. Sometimes CURL (the module that allows external downloads) is enabled, but some hosting providers limit its connections.

Please post a screenshot of the error you see while installing the plugins (you can use imgur.com to post a screenshot).

Yeah I already talked with my provider but there are not really willing to help me. Their want me to buy a better “more expensive” Server.

I checked on a php info plugin and curl is activated. Do you want me to send you the whole stats?

Thanks, as you see in the error message the problem is in fact from the hosting, Download Failed, it means your provider is blocking the connection.
It often happens that in cheap packages they block essential functions in order to sell you bigger packages.

CURL is active perhalps but the block can be in the connection on a server rule.
As you can see you can download the plugin manually by reaching this URL

Then once installed this plugin, it will guide you to the installation of the other plugins.
They will ALL have this very same problem of course. You can copy the URL of each one and download / install them manually, or switch to a more serious hosting.

If you want to stay cheap and get a super good hosting, we recently worked tight with a new hosting company which can provide a dedicated wp hosting without any problem.

PS is really a shame your hosting is just trying to sell you a bigger package, it appears pretty clear that they are indeed blocking on purpose the connection, and the solution wuold probably involve to add a line in the allowed connections (every time this happened to other customers their hosting just added our repository to the allowed connections and it worked).

Hi,
i did it manuelly and its working now. Will I have any problems in the future when there are updates for the theme or the plugins?

I also have few questions:

1. If I go inside an event type: How can I change the header background picture to short or hide it like in the page settings?

2. How can I do the same with the Sponsortypes or any other types?

3. How can I change the text inside the searchform….its not a part of the PO File (checked it with Poedit)

1) event: you can’t this option is only for pages. You can add a featured image or leave it blank and it eventually uses the global settings
2) You can always change the featured image
3) the text is in the pot:

you can also:
1) Open the pot with poedit and click refresh to make sure it is up to date
2) Manually edit searchform.php and put it in the child theme

4) Event (till date) there is no suh option, you have to use the content of the event to add this information to the page. We already planned an update for this, which will add also a button to save the event in google calendar. Can’t provide a precise date yet.

1) how can I add an image? at the event typ page settings are no field for adding image…so the headerpicture is always black and fullscreen? I really need another layout here and I can’t do it via normal pages cause I need a list of an specific eventtype only.

1) You can add pitcures in the description using “add media” in the text editor
2) You can make a page and use the event shortcode together with an eventtype filtering
