Background YouTube-Video

Hi,

the background video in my header is not playing on page: https://klugeberatung.de/smart-leadership/?ign_skip=w33 only the fallback image is displayed.

Why is it not working?

Can you help me with this?

Hello Rabea,
first check if the video has been added properly.
When editing your homepage, click on the edit icon of your row and add you youtube video url in the proper field.

This is the way to add background videos to your pages.
The fallback image can be added on the following design tab.

If this doesn’t work, you should deactivate all the third-party plugins installed on your website, clear the cache, and check if the problem persists.

Most of the times, third party plugins interfere with the theme and some functionalities doesn’t work properly.

Hi Andrea,

thanks for your answer. The Video and the fallback image are both on the right place. The Video is playing nicely on safari, but not on chrome and firefox.

I also deactivated the Plugins, but its still not working!

I really don’t know why!

Do you have any other idea?

Hello Rabea,
I’ve just checked your website both with Chrome and Firefox and all seems fine.

I’m almost sure that it’s something related with your caching plugin.
On Chrome and Firefox try to force refresh/delete your WordPress and browser cache.

There is nothing more to do 🙂

That’s strange. On my Mac it’s still not working. Of course I deleted my entire cache of all my browsers and also of WordPress.

Why is it then not working :-/

Could you please try creating a new page from scratch and add a background video to it?

Did you try checking your website from a different pc, both Mac and Windows based?

On Windows desktop with IE, its working on an android phone not. On my desktop (Browser: Safri, Chrome, Firefox) not.I didn’t#t test now everything, but you see that ists not working nicely. unfortunately :-/

Did you ever had this before?

Hello Rabea,
I keep seeing the video without any issue.
Consider that on mobile the video will not autoplay due to devices policy (mainly for security and bandwidth reason).

You can try debugging the issue with our advices described here: https://www.themes2go.xyz/helpdesk/forums/topic/phone-number-in-footer-and-sidebar/

For mobile devices you can use a fallback image: you can set it editing the row containing the video, switching to “Design Option” and set background image.

This will be used as background when a device can’t load and start the video. It can be very useful on mobile.
