can’t the video URL for a video post – always shows an error

hiya,

i posted a video post. it worked fine, but I wanted to change the video on that particular post.

now it only shows an error:
“Warning: count(): Parameter must be an array or an object that implements Countable in /home/customer/www/berrybunch.family/public_html/wp-content/themes/vlogger/functions.php on line 979”

the thing is, it worked before editing the video url

[if i copy the post and preview it, the video plays just fine…if I edit the old post – with a new URL it doesn’t work.]

i’ve cleared the cache, ensured there is nothing prior to the URL but the issue persists. i also made sure to delete the old url, not just paste over it.

i’ve deleted the row it sits on, and added a fresh one.

short of copying this post and recreating it (and editing the permalink for people who try to access it via email) and losing the comments already on this post, is there anything else I can do?

also, emails for posts are just 55 words long. i know that suggests a wordpress limit. but emails were as long as i wanted them to be – up to that “more” line that I would add.

so, how do i make them my posts much longer for people who get the post by email?

i’ve tried the “more” option but this makes no difference

When you create a post and you add a video, WordPress generates some hidden fields containing the video id. Even if you change the video, those hidden fields are not refreshed.

This means that you can’t edit video included in your post, you have to create a new post from scratch.

This is a well known WordPress issue (https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/37597) but the WordPress developers don’t want to do anything about it because they say it is a very remote case. See these links:

The only solution to change this is to edit the WordPress core but as you know for sure this is not something we can do.

The only solution is to avoid editing existing posts and instead create fresh ones for each of your video posts

Regarding the post via email issue could you please be more detailed?
How those posts are sent?
