Attention: Invalid recipient in the page’s settings

is the message on the Contacts page and the form doesn’t display. If I change the email address in the Contacts recipient email address field to a different address the form works. The address we want to use is a valid email address that is also the admin address for this site and for the host. Thanks.

Talked to the host and they said either the theme or the plugin is stopping the email address. The email address has the domain name in it but using an email address without the domain name works fine.

Hi, what’s the domain name and the email address? The email needs to be in same domain as the site otherwise it’s blocked for security reasons. Is the same thing also in Contact Form 7, is a new standard security since few weeks in the entire WordPress.

If this is a problem you can create a mail redirect in your domain like contact@mydomain.com and redirect emails via MX to your real address where youo want it to arrive.

Just to be sure, did you also try another address and it was instead working?
Do you see any error message?

I put in another email address and the contact form displayed without the message. The message is on http://cruelevation.com/contacts/

Thanks, if you see that message it means the email is incorrect. Is a native control on the email address performed with a PHP function.
It can be triggered because of invalid characters in the email field, for example spaces, accents or other symbols.
Please delete the emmail field, and write it from cratch (no copy and paste) and it should work fine.

Also, be sure you have PHP version > 7.1. Even an outdated PHP version can be causing the issue.
