When I embed YouTube-Videos I have the youtube-logo, youtube-share-button and so on in the video.
In the tutorial-video there are no such elements:

Is it possible to remove this elements?
Hello dddd and thanks for reaching us.
Andrea here from Themes2go Customer Support.Since 2017 when we first released Vlogger theme, YouTube changed its policies regarding the embedded video feature and for this we can’t remove its elements and watermarks.
You can also check that all our videos on the online demos are affected by these new rules: http://themes2go.xyz/demos/vlogger/demo/how-do-i-start-a-video/
Best regards,
AndreaThank you for the information. Is it possible to remove the video player elements of the theme?
Now you can’t click on the elements of Youtube. With this you confuse the users…
Hello!
Our custom video player it’s deeply integrated with the theme. Hiding the player elements would mean changing the player itself and this is not possible. As stated before, this is something generated from YouTube and unfortunately we can’t deal with it.
And Vimeo and self hosted videos?
Or is it possible to disable the Theme player?
Hello sir,
as stated in my previous reply we can’t disable our custom player because deeply integrated with the theme.Vimeo embedded video does not have any logo but you would have some buttons on the top right that couldn’t be hit.
Self hosted videos are the ones without any third party elements.
Vimeo offers the possibility to customize the player for Plus accounts. Is this also the case for the embedding in the theme?
I found that this is a problem with plyr. For the latest version of Plyr there is a fix for it:
https://github.com/sampotts/plyr/pull/2142
I didn’t find the css class in the theme. can you help?
Hello!
You didn’t find the class in theme because we did not update Plyr to the latest version on purpose. The reason is simple: the first version of the player we’ve included in the theme, from a code point of view, is very different. Updating Plyr to the newest version would mean rewrite entirely the theme source code (as stated in my previous replies, Plyr is deeply integrated with our theme). For this reason we decide to stay with the first release.
Regarding the fix you’ve sent me, it’s not related with the youtube elements removal but it just get those elements clickable.
Regarding Vimeo, I think that with a Vimeo Pro account you should get rid of those elements.
Hope this clarify the situation.
Best regards,
AndreaHello!
I know. If I can’t hide the icons, I have to at least make them clickable. I don’t want to completely confuse users.
How to increase the z-index for the YouTube elements?
Hello!
Although we tried to solve this, unfortunately there is no fix for the issue.
The current Plyr player included with the theme can’t deal with z-index class related with YouTube elements. In the first release when we designed the theme, YouTube didn’t include those elements and Plyr didn’t have the need to hide them. For this reason that release can’t handle the z-index of something that wasn’t meant to be there.
Hope this can clarify it.
Andrea
It is quite an explanation, but are there any plans to fix the bug in the user interface?
Currently there is no plan to fix it in our roadmap for the theme update.
As stated before, this would mean rewrite more than half of the source code and probably would be better create a new product. What I can do for you is get in touch with Plyr developers and ask them if is there anything we can do to fix it.
I’ll keep you posted as soon as possible.
Andrea
That would be very good. And also very helpful for the other users.
Hello there and thanks for your patience.
Just a quick update regarding this case. We’ve tried to contact Plyr developer without any success and for this we tried with all our efforts to help you out with the issue.
We’ve also noticed that this “bug” (mainly caused by YouTube new policy) affected also many other users without any fix by the developer.
https://github.com/sampotts/plyr/issues/1321
https://github.com/sampotts/plyr/issues/1222
https://github.com/sampotts/plyr/issues/976
Moreover, the main demo of Plyr is affected by the same issue we have with our theme.
Try by yourself to play and pause the video: as you can see the YouTube elements are not clickable.
Last but least, we tried multiple workaround to make those elements clickable but all we did wasn’t successful.
For all these reason I have to say that there is nothing to do with it, also updating Plyr would not fix the thing and adding or editing css classes would not be a fix for this issue.Hope this helps to clarify the case.
Best,
Andrea
