Hello,
i can set up the places as an filter on the NS Categorie Widget and I can set up some places and add them to some Events. But when I click on these Places in the Widget I just see the Blogpage an not all the Events which are at the Place (Location)
Also when I add two ore more Events to the same place I just can se 1 event on the location. Something is not correct working.
Have a look by yourself: https://seminar-finder.online/event/k5-future-retail-conference-2018/
This Event is located in Berlin and if I click on Berlin at the right Widget I want to see this and alle the other Berlin Events.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Cheers Stephan
Hello Stephan,
thanks for writing in. Andrea here from Themes2go Customer Support.
We are going to check the issue with our developers and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks,
Andreahi, I just checked, if I click on a city I see the list of events, but actually there is only one per city. Are you saying if you have many, they don’t appear?
When I link the places in the widget I just see the page as a blogpage without the events: https://seminar-finder.online/place/berlin/
And when I add the placecategories in the widget I see the same plogpage
What I want is that when I click on that place which is a city like Berlin, I want to have a page with the city as a background with all events which are in Berlin. Currently I have at least 3 Events where I set up the place to Berlin which I created in the place tap before.
I understand, thanks for your clarification.
I’m very sorry but, even thou what you mention makes sense, this is not part of the actual product features and templates, nor something you see in the demos, so I can’t provide a quick fix for this. The link you posted is a Place, is not an eventtype (so is not an URL meant to display archives of events), it is the URL of a single place.
There is anyway a workaround to do what you want.
You show add an EventType category to the event with the name of the city, then in the menu display a link to this EventType. It will list all the events within a certain city.
In alternative, you can use a plugin to add custom categories, there are a couple working fine (maybe some of them dowsn’t work with custom types) https://wordpress.org/plugins/tags/custom-taxonomies/
Create a taxonomy “location” for the events, and this allows you to use this new taxonomy instead of eventTypes.
Hello,
yes I found a workaround. I used the places as an extra eventfilter. So this is working now.
But now I saw another problem with the global map: https://seminar-finder.online/seminare/
Its not showing all events…for example in Berlin are 4 Events and if you zoom in, you just see 1 Event. Yes every Berlin Event has a different location.
Hello,
correct workaround.
About events, if they are in the exact same place, they overlap.
The markers are all in the exact same position so actually they are one on top of each other. In your case I’d strongly recommend to change the shortcode and set the menu to open (open=”1″)
But the locations are not in the same place. If you go to places you see all event location I used and there are all on different places. But in the map are only frew. I guess some events are not showing up. Sorry where is this stortcode?
there is only: lifecoach_remove_menu
which one do you mean?
thanks in advance
Hello!
1) The locations are different, but they are so close that when the map is small, they appear in the same place. If you zoom in, in fact, you see they are in different locations. For this reason we made the map menu, so you can still click on the list. (for this I suggest to add the open=1)2) You have to add the open=”1″ to the qt-places shortcode.
More info http://qantumthemes.com/demo/qtplaces/how-to-display-a-map/The complete manual of QT Places is a PDF contained in the LifeCoach theme product folder downloadable from Themeforest.
I just figured out its not working for all.
Example: https://seminar-finder.online/place/hotel-rosenhof/
This Location near ” Kaiserslautern in Germany” is not showing up in the map.
If I type in the geocode: 49.44584,7.553859999999986
its showing up in in the preview but when I save the page, but I can not see the marker in the map.It may happen because of items amount limitation.
Please be sure that you are not limiting it, by adding limit=”999″ to the shortcode.Other reason could be that google can’t decode that coordinates length.
Please try this size instead
49.44584,7.55385I created the places via the places plugin. There is no code where I could see or change the shortcode. I compaired the event which are working and which are not working. The coordinates length is the same.
So I could just imagine thats its limited, but I did’t changed settings like this in general so could you please have a look at the code? (where can I send you Login Privat)
Thanks
next Problem is: In the Map ist still showing outdated event
Hello,
could you please provide me a screenshot of the shortcode in the backend?
Thanksthere is no sortcode. I made the Location with the places plugin. You only can see the shortcodes on normal pages. Or do I get you wrong?
Hello Stephan,
the map below should be created via QTPlaces shortcode. Isn’t it?
https://imgur.com/a/JCFX3s9The shortcode should be something like this (this is taken from demo contents – alternative homepage)
You can edit it and change the limit to 999 as suggested by my teammate Igor.
Give it a try,Andrea
Oh yeah sorry ive been on the places page before. I found it and set the litmit to 999. Now I can see a the Events on the map. Perfekt!
So then the last issue. On the map and on the Event suggestions I can still see outdated Events. I set filter to hide outdated Events but this is just Happening in the “all Events” page here: https://seminar-finder.online/seminare/
Thanks so far for your help!
Hi, I just updated the QT places plugin adding the parameter to hide old events.
Please, without waiting the theme update, download this new one and upload it (unzipped) in wp-content/plugins, replaing the old folder qt-places
https://themes2go.xyzplugins_repo/lifecoach/180528gDpr/qt-places-1.8.1.zip
Then, add to the shortcode the parameter hideold=”1″
that’s all 😉
I’m glad it works, closing the topic then 😉 please feel free to open a new one if required.
regards
Igor
