Hi,
I would like to have a video background with a self-made video of waves at the seaside. As I understand I have to upload it to YouTube first and then customize the settings in WP Bakery by inserting the YouTube Link … So far it all worked fine but my video is only 10 seconds long and after 10 seconds the background becomes black and a reloading messes up my background.
Is there any way to skip youtube and just use my videoclip as a loop without the interruption? I used Adobe Premiere Rush CC to customize the video.
Thanks for your helpHi, this is handled totally by Page Builder. The settings of the background videos is to loop it by default.
If your video stops and doesn’t loop, please try from another computer, because what we have found is that if you change your own account’s youtube settings, like quality, subtitles, looping and so on, those changes that you make on your youtube’s account will also affect any video you see in external embedded places. So, as this is probably the case, please check from another browser not linked to your youtube account, and see what happens. You may find out that the video stops only when viewing the site from the same browser where you are logged in youtube.
Hello and thanks for the reply.
I am afraid this did not work. I am using WP on Safari for Mac. In Google Chrome and in Safari I was logged in on youtube. So I logged out of my youtube Account in both browsers – still the video plays, then the video title is displayed in a layer over my company logo on the top left. It is only a short video – it reloads, the screen turns black, the youtube logo is displayed on the bottom right side and then it starts over again. On my iPhone I do not even see a background at all …
Is there any way to use a video independently from youtube?
What are the recommended settings for the video? This is the first video I ever uploaded on youtube. How long should it be etc?
regards from GermanyHello!
First, could you please send me your website page URL with the video background?
As stated before, video background is totally handled by WP Bakery Page Builder and we can’t modify its settings.Trying to answer to your doubts:
- currently you can only use YouTube videos on Page Builder and not own mp4 files.
- The videos included in our demos are at least 1 minute long
- Your logo company appearing on the top left corner is normal, is just the YouTube player that works this way
- Try to embed another video and check if the issue persists.
- In mobile background videos are hard-blocked by the devices themselves.
- Regarding your video: a quick workaround could be edit your 10 seconds video with some video editing software and duplicate it over and over again on your timeline until the total length is more than 1 minute. Export your video and upload it again on YouTube.
A quick fix could be adding an image as row background so on a desktop will load the video and on mobile the image you set.
You should edit the row containing the video and then in “Design Options” Tab, choosing a background image. Check the image below:

Keep me posted.
AndreaHello Andrea,
thanks for the detailed help! As my page is still in “coming soon” mode the url would not help.
But I guess the idea with a video longer than 1 Minute is helpful. Mine was definitely shorter. I will work on this and get back to you as soon as I have further results or (hopefully not) issues.

Whenever you want drop a line and I will support you. 🙂Andrea
