in reply to: LogoShouldn’t you have made it clear that I’d have to buy and learn expensive new software to use this theme? I assumed I’d just be able to add my own copy/images and be good to go. Instead, every small task seems to involve endless complications.
Now my choice is: buy Photoshop and learn it, or cut that section too. That section was important to me because I have a specific course I want to sell. I can’t use your background pic because it is male and my course is for women. But I can’t add a female image without making the text unreadable, or buying Photoshop so I can add a dark overlay.
Is there a way of getting just a plain black background instead, so the copy is at least readable?
in reply to: Dark overlay needed for pictureHow do I replace the demo images with my own? I’ve finally found the little arrow that accesses the words so I can add my own words.
Now how do I find pictures?
in reply to: How do I start?Hi Andrea. I did a total reset as you suggested, but all the mistakes are still there. I really need a clean version of the demo installed, so I can start again. At the moment I have mistakes all over. How do I do this?
in reply to: How do I start?Thank you. So I did all this, including updating theme. Then tried to install the main demo, and got this:
ERROR 504 – GATEWAY TIMEOUT
Why am I seeing this page?
The server that your request has reached is acting as a gateway or proxy to fulfil the request made by your client.
Web Browser => Web Front-End => Web Back-End
This server (Web Front-End) received an invalid response from an upstream (Web Back-End) server it accessed to fulfil the request.
In most cases this will not mean that the upstream server is down, but rather that the upstream server and the gateway/proxy do not agree on the protocol for exchanging data.
This problem is most commonly caused when there is a problem with IP communications between the Web Front and Back-Ends. Before you attempt to resolve this problem you should clear your browser cache completely.

in reply to: How do I start?OK, so I have made so many mistakes, I want to start again. Can I reinstall the whole thing, or write over the child theme and start again?
in reply to: How do I start?I have watched the videos (which go so fast, I can’t follow them). I have read the manual. I have pressed on the green pencil. The box is empty. I can’t see where/how to start inserting my own copy.
in reply to: How do I start?I have gone to the green pencil – there is nothing showing. I thought I’d just delate your words and replace them with my own. That’s why I’m so confused. Nothing on it seems to be responding. Have also added in my own featured image, but that hasn’t worked. Tried changing more basic things, like contact form, but I’m just lost.
